Manik Sarkar strongly reacted over PM statements, claimed PM uttered only falsehood

Opposition leader Manik Sarkar strongly reacted to the statements made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in two rallies at Ambassa and Udaipur  and said PM has only uttered falsehood and tried to hide the ‘misgovernace’ of Tripura.

Addressing a press conference here at CPI (M) headquarters on Saturday evening, opposition leader and CPI(M) polit bureau member said that both the speeches delivered by PM –is only cried for ensuring their so-called ‘double-engine’ government. But, he may forget that peace loving people of the state are determined to oust the anti-people government to put a stop to five years long politics and violence and oppression to restore democracy again in the state.

‘A fear reflected in his speeches, which does not uttered any of the pre-poll commitments made before 2018 elections and people of the state want to know what happened over their 299 commitments,’ said Sarkar and added that they misguided the people of the state, specially the youths and again they are trying to misguide the people.

Highlighting the speeches made by the Prime Minister, Sarkar said that over expansion of national highways across the state, the PM gave false statements.

PM said that Tripura gives power to neighbouring Bangladesh, but in reality after the formation of BJP government, the power selling to Bangladesh has been stopped, said Sarkar and added that PM said there was no democracy in the state during the Left Front regime. Sarkar if there was no democracy , then how can BJP come to power.

Sarkar said after the formation of the BJP government a reign of terror prevailed across the state and all democratic rights of common people had been suppressed by the autocratic BJP government  and continued one party rule in the state. After 2018, all the elections conducted in the state were vitiated by the miscreants of ruling party and made these into a farce, said Sarkar and added that PM had uttered that there was no peace and development, but asked the PM that Tripura has been appreciated by all states of the country to stop decades long insurgency in the state.

Due to combating insurgency, the state police have been awarded with the President's ‘colour batch’ and to restore the peace in the state above 350 party supporters of CPI (M) were killed including Minister Bimal Sinha.

“Once PM Modi praised the then state government for successfully combating the insurgency and restoring peace in the state,” said Sarkar.

He also asked what they have done for the indigenous people of the state and even the BJP government did not conduct Village Committee (VC) polls and deprived the lakhs of tribal population.

The PM said that during the LF regime , there were no rules of law and there was no protection of women, and asked if the PM knew the fact that after the BJP came to power total anarchy prevailed in the state and crime against women reached its peak.

After BJP came to power, all the political rights of opposition parties were suppressed and hundreds of party offices were vandalized or set fire in broad daylight, said Sarkar.

He also said that whatever PM tried to convince the people of the state, nothing will happen as people of the state through united struggle are ready to oust the BJP government in the February 16 elections.

He also raised questions over the deployment of Gujarat and Assam state police in poll duties and claimed that instead of central forces, the deployment of two BJP ruled state police reflected the fear-psychosis  of the ruling party.

Sarkar also appealed to the people not to fall prey over the fake lucrative assurances of BJP and cast their votes unitedly to ensure the defeat of BJP government to restoration of peace and democracy.
