Middle aged man arrested for molesting a minor girl

In a shameful incident, one middle aged man was arrested, who molested a minor school girl, when she was returning from her school on Saturday at Kakraban area of Gomati district.

Police sources said that a 16 years old school girl was returning to her home after school through narrow village lane on Saturday afternoon, seeing the girl is moving alone, one miscreant identified as Safiq Miah (57) of Kishoreganj village under Kakrabon police station catch up the minor girl forcefully and molested her.

Somehow, the girl managed to escape from the clutches of the miscreant and rushed to her house. After reaching her house, she narrated the incident to her parents and they immediately lodged a complaint at Kakrabon police station against miscreant Safiq Miah.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kakraban police station, Rajib Bhowmik said that police registered a specific complaint under section 341, 354 of IPC and 8 of POCSO Act and on Sunday managed to arrest Safiq Miah.

Bhowmik said that on Monday the accused will be produced before a local court for further legal action.
