Monsoon arrived Tripura, intermittent rain predicted
Finally the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into entire parts of Tripura on May 30th along with other Northeastern states on the same day, which entered Kerala has also on May 30.
The South-West Monsoon advanced by a week from its normal date, which has also set in over Kerala and advanced into most parts of Northeast India.
Speaking with Northeast Herald, IMD’s Agartala station Director , Dr Partha Roy said, conditions are becoming favorable for the advance of Southwest Monsoon into some other parts of Northeastern states.
The main rainy season of India and with the onset of Monsoon over Kerala, gradually moves towards other parts of the country.
IMD said that rainfall will continue in most places across Tripura for the next few days with the possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places in coming next three days. IMD has added that rainfall occurred at most places in Tripura with heavy rainfall at isolated places during the last 24 hours.
While, the temperatures in state capital with maximum temperatures rising to 34 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius on Friday morning. Though the humidity level is at maximum 93 % recorded at the state capital.
IMD in its weather prediction for next day said a generally cloudy sky with heavy rain would occur in different parts of Tripura and issued warning that thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Tripura and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places over North, Unakoti and Dhalai districts of the state.
