MSME can play significant role by utilizing state’s natural resources for GDP growth, CM
The state government is sincerely working to set up big and small industries based on all natural resources of the state as state’s GDP growth through setting up industries is the ultimate goal of the government as Tripura is blessed with plenty of natural resources including bamboo, rubber and natural gas, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha after inaugurating the two-day regional conference on MSME sustainable development organized by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at Pragna Bhavan on Monday said that the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises can play a significant role in this sector.
He said, there are many big and small industries in the state and the state government is working with the goal to increase GDP of the state through providing necessary assistance to those. Earlier, it has been observed that in the name of protests, the industries of the state have been left to rot. There has been no proper planning during that time for setting up industries. The present state government has created an industry-friendly environment in the state. As a result, several big and small industrial units have been started in the state.
Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane in the conference said, importance has been given in the conference as to how the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises can assist Northeastern states including Tripura in terms of economic growth. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is ever ready for development of every sector in Northeastern states. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has often mentioned about providing necessary assistance to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises for development of the Northeast states. He said, as a result of sincere efforts of the present state government, Tripura is moving ahead on the path of development today.
Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma said, in 2018 under the leadership of the present Prime Minister, the central government has taken up ‘Act East’ policy for the overall development of the Northeast. Benefits of different schemes are being catered through the policy for development of the Northeastern states.
