My Bharat Tripura mobilizes youth for democratic participation on National Voters Day
Under the nationwide “My Bharat My Vote” campaign of MY Bharat, Union Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the National Voters’ Day Padyatra and “Sunday on Cycle” 2026 was successfully organized on Sunday at Agartala by MY Bharat Tripura.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 700 youth, volunteers, and citizens, reaffirming the campaign’s commitment to strengthening democratic values. As part of the initiative, more than 120 first-time voters were felicitated, highlighting the focus on encouraging informed and active youth participation in the electoral process.
The event was formally flagged off by Uday Sankar Biswas, Assistant Electoral Officer (AEO), Election Department, Tripura, in the gracious presence of Dr. Bharti Nigam, Assistant Director, Youth Affairs & Sports of Tripura government.
The programme commenced with an address and the administration of the National Voters’ Pledge by Shri Bimal Patrick Shah, State Director, MY Bharat Tripura. This was followed by an inspiring address from Shri Uday Sankar Biswas, who motivated young citizens to actively engage in the democratic process and exercise their right to vote responsibly.
The event was further enriched by the felicitation of first-time voters and a vibrant Kathak dance performance presented by the Reformist Society Group, adding cultural significance to the occasion.
A 3-kilometre padyatra and cycle rally, conducted from Ujjayanta Palace to Umakanta Academy, effectively disseminated voter awareness messages across the city, reinforcing the importance of electoral participation and civic responsibility among citizens.
