National Power Training Institute partners with TSECL for linemen safety training
In response to frequent accidents involving linemen and helpers during electrical repairs, the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) has launched a vital three-day training program in collaboration with the Tripura State Electricity Corporation (TSECL).
The program, which began on Tuesday at the Shahid Bhagat Singh Yuva Awas in Agartala, aims to enhance safety practices and expedite electrical repairs. Dr. Rohit Verma, Director of NPTI's Northeast Office, inaugurated the program alongside TSECL officials, including Company Secretary Alak Srivastava and DGM Corporate Shishir Debbarma and DGM Safety Rajendra Debbarma. The training, which has gathered 30 linemen and helpers from across the state, is part of a nationwide initiative to train 20,000 linemen using modern techniques and stringent safety protocols.
Dr Verma emphasized that this initiative is crucial for improving safety standards and ensuring efficient line repairs. The program will focus on advanced repair methods and rigorous adherence to safety rules to mitigate risks associated with electrical maintenance.
