Nation's progress lies in re-electing PM Modi for third term: CM

Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Friday said that the people of the state have unequivocally rejected the opposition, asserting that they lack any substantial issues and have lost their political footing.

“Opposition has no traction. They stand on shaky ground, devoid of any concrete issues. The populace has decisively turned away from them. The nation can only progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Over the past decade, he has tirelessly worked for the welfare of the nation and its people. Therefore, this election holds immense significance in re-electing Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third term,” he emphasized.

Dr Saha said this during a large election rally held at Panisagar in the North district in support of the BJP's nominated candidate for the East Tripura constituency, Kriti Singh Debbarma.

During his address, the Chief Minister highlighted that financial approval has already been granted for the establishment of a judicial court, a new block building, and a degree college in Panisagar.

"The implementation of these projects will commence soon. The upcoming 18th Lok Sabha elections hold paramount importance. It would be a mistake to regard them as just any other election. We all must approach this election with the utmost seriousness. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Agartala. He urged us to reach out to the people and convey that we are seeking their blessings on behalf of the Prime Minister. Over the past 10 years, he has undertaken various initiatives for the welfare of the people of our country," said the Chief Minister.

He highlighted that in 2018, the people were liberated from the misrule of the Left under the able leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

"The Prime Minister has liberated us from that mismanagement. Therefore, on behalf of the entire people of Tripura, I extend our gratitude and prayers to the Prime Minister. We have demonstrated how elections can be conducted democratically. The 2023 assembly elections and the by-elections of Boxanagar and Dhanpur were conducted in a completely neutral and peaceful manner, without any incidents. This marks a historic achievement for Tripura. The BJP and its leadership have always stood against unrest. Today, in the first phase of elections, people enthusiastically participated in the voting process," he added.

He noted that people voted in orderly queues throughout, while some leaders of the opposition party are making various baseless allegations to mislead the public about the voting process.

"They are doing so because they have lost their ground. These allegations are aimed at creating confusion as per their plan, which has unfortunately become their habit. However, the people have rejected them," he emphasized. He underscored the significance of this election in determining the future trajectory of the country.

"Hence, it is imperative for everyone to come forward and support the BJP-nominated candidate in the East Tripura constituency to secure a resounding victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections," he concluded.

The meeting was attended by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, MLA Binay Bhushan Das, MLA Jadab Lal Nath, North District President Bhabatosh Das, TIDC Chairman Nabadal Banik, and North District BJP President Kajal Das.
