NCW, National Law University, Tripura host empowerment workshop
The National Commission for Women (NCW)New Delhi and National Law University Tripura, organized a transformative training workshop entered around the theme "Rise and Lead: Young Women Pioneering Technology, Business, and Public Life".
This ground-breaking platform aimed to empower aspiring young women in technology, business and public spheres. Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, the Founding Vice-Chancellor, NLU, Tripura, extended his warm welcome to all the dignitaries and resource persons and emphasized on the institutional commitment of imparting quality education training. The workshop was designed for college-going girls from all disciplines and aimed to empower and equip them to excel and lead in their chosen fields. Around 150 girls from various institutions viz. NLU Tripura, TIT, MBB University, TGLC, NIT and ICFAI Law School participated in the workshop.
The event witnessed the esteemed presence of Mr. Justice Arindam Lodh, Judge, High Court of Tripura as Chief Guest. Justice Lodh inspired the young girl participants urging them to explore and to dream big without limitations. He quoted the famous line of Lt. APJ Abdul Kalam:“Dream big, aim high, and never let someone tell you that you can’t because of your gender.”
Ms. Delina Khongdup, Member, NCW, New Delhi, shed light on the various activities taken up by NCW for promoting the young women across the disciplines.
The First Technical Session titled “Tech Horizons: Navigating Emerging Opportunities in AI, Drone Technology” featured insightful discussions led by esteemed speakers consisting Mr. Prashant Bhardwaj Asst. Professor, Dept. of CSE NIT Agartala and Mr. Bijoy Kumar Upadhyaya, Principal TIT, Agartala who highlighted the role of AI with a special emphasis on the uses of Drones in empowering women in the agricultural activities. The second technical session titled “Women in Decision Making and Public Life witnessed Ms. Mou Bannerjee, Registrar (Judicial) High Court of Tripura, who addressed the need to overcome the ‘Imposter Syndrome’ and encourage participants to have unwavering self-confidence.
Ms. Nistha Chakraborty, an Indian Kick Boxer from the state inspired and motivated the young girls to uphold high self-esteem and self-realization. Third technical session “Women in Corporate Arena” was led by Smt. Uma Suryanarayanan, General Manager, (Finance& Accounts), Chairperson of Women Development Forum, ONGC, Tripura, who shared insights on the achievements of women in the corporate world. Mr. Hrishikesh Chakrabarti, Director Tripura Judicial Academy, Prof. Nachiketa Mittal, Registrar, NLU Tripura, Faculty Members from NLUT, TIT, TGLC and NIT also participated in the workshop. Dr. Debasree Debnath, Director of the Centre for Women and Child Rights NLU Tripura proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions.
