In a dedicated effort to promote cleanliness and health, NEEPCO organized a medical camp for Safai Mitras and their families in Kalikrishna Nagar at Sepahijala district, as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign.
The event was graced by the presence of MLA Dhanpur, Bindu Debnath, who expressed his appreciation for the initiative and the vital role of Safai Mitras in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
A press statement of NEEPCO said that the medical camp attracted a total of 119 participants, comprising 69 males and 50 females, including Safai Mitras and their family members. The health check-ups and consultations provided a much-needed service to the community, emphasizing NEEPCO's commitment to the well-being of those who play a crucial role in the Swachhata movement.
Following the medical camp, a ‘Shramdan’ cleaning drive was conducted in the school compound, engaging participants in hands-on activities that highlighted the importance of cleanliness. The drive culminated in a collective Swachhata Pledge, where all attendees pledged to uphold cleanliness and hygiene in their daily lives.
At the end of the program, doctors, nurses, and other officials took a pledge in both Bengali and Hindi, reinforcing the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and emphasizing the responsibilities of citizens in the Clean India campaign. They reiterated the significance of cleanliness as not just a personal responsibility but a collective commitment towards creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for future generations.
This event marked a significant step in fostering community spirit and awareness about cleanliness. NEEPCO’s initiative demonstrates the importance of collaboration between organizations and local communities in achieving the goals of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, which continues to inspire action across the nation.
By engaging with the community through medical support and active participation in cleanliness drives, NEEPCO is not only improving health outcomes but also instilling a sense of responsibility and pride in maintaining a clean environment.
