Nine students, one teacher injured in road mishap at Circuit House
Altogether nine students and one teacher of ICFAI University suffered critical injuries, when a passenger jeep in heavy speed crashed with a road divider near a hotel at Circuit House area of Agartala under NCC police station on Tuesday morning.
Police sources said that the accident took place when a passenger vehicle lost control and crashed with the divider in heavy speed enroute to Kamalghat from Agartala.
Soon after the accident, firefighters and police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted all injured students and a teacher to GB Hospital.
The hospital sources said that one victim student has suffered severe injuries and is currently in critical condition, receiving medical care.
OC of NCC police station, Sushanta Deb said that about 9.30 AM, police received the information of the road mishap and added that after the rescue operation , the offending vehicle had been seized for further investigation.
“On Tuesday morning at around 9.30 AM, a old Commander jeep was travelling from Radhanagar bus stop to a college in Kamalghat area of West Tripura district and unfortunately, the vehicle struck with the iron rods of road divider in heavy speed after driver lost his control, as result injuries to 10 people including nine students and a teacher of the college,” said Deb and added that police seized the vehicle (TR-01-A-2058), but accused river managed to escape from the spot after the accident.
