NLU, Tripura and DIT sign MoU to strengthen start-up and innovation ecosystem
National Law University, Tripura and the Directorate of Information Technology of Tripura government signed a Memorandum of Understanding on February 11, 2026 during the “Innovation for Growth: Tripura Start-Up & NGIN Meet” at the Smart Training Centre, IT Bhawan, Agartala, to strengthen the start-up and innovation ecosystem in the state.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Mr. Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, government of India, and Mr. Kiran Gitte, Secretary, IT, government of Tripura, along with senior State officials and representatives of start-ups. The collaboration aims to promote innovation-driven entrepreneurship through capacity building, legal and regulatory support, policy research, training and mentoring initiatives.
Sanjiv Singh highlighted the importance of strengthening academia–government linkages for an inclusive innovation environment, while the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Yogesh Pratap Singh, stated that the MoU would help young entrepreneurs effectively address legal, regulatory and institutional challenges.
The Vice-Chancellor also thanked and praised the Government of Tripura for coming up with the idea of such collaborations through which both organizations can work together and mutually benefit in the process. Registrar Prof. Nachiketa Mittal and Assistant Registrar Ms. Aparajita Banerjee also participated in the meet.
