No gate for Dumbur lake opened, rain water starts releasing automatically
The gate for the Gomati Hydro Electric project in Dumbur under Amarpur subdivision of Gomati district is not opened and excess water from the reservoir is now releasing automatically and there is nothing for panic, said Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath.
Nath through his social media said that “no gate has been opened for Gomati Hydro Electric Project. The storage capacity of the reservoir is up to 94 meters. Once the water crosses this level, it will automatically exit through the gate. Again, when the water level of the reservoir falls below 94 meters, the gate will automatically close.”
He said that after heavy rainfall in the region, when the water level of Gomati reservoir rises above 94 meters, water is automatically released through two gates and about 50% water is coming out through a gate.
He added that there is no reason to panic. The administration is aware of the whole matter and Nath requested the people of the concerned area to be careful.
