No one can stop BJP from working in TTAADC areas: CM
Blackmail and threat politics will not work anymore, Tipra Motha not following alliance rules: CM
Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday criticized the Tipra Motha Party for giving a statement saying that the BJP will not be allowed in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
He said that no one can stop the BJP from holding programmes and working for Janajati people in Janajati areas. Dr Saha also said that blackmailing and threat politics will not work anymore.
Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha said this while addressing a party programme at Baijal Bari under Khowai district on Tuesday.
Dr Saha said that many people tried to prevent the event meant for Janajati women.
“Our BJP’s guardians are Prime Minister Narendra Modi, All India President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah. No one can stop us from holding party programmes. We want dialogue and do not want unrest. We will use power only through the law to maintain law and order. BJP never believes in unruliness. Other parties may behave differently and speak unnecessary things, but our party and leaders will never do that,” he said.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, Dr Saha said, “Pakistan used to blackmail by claiming it would launch a nuclear bomb. Similarly, another party is blackmailing by saying CPIM will enter. Everyone knows how BJP came to power in 2018. First it was Tipraland, then Greater Tipraland, and now One Northeast. Anyone can do whatever they want, but it should be through a democratic process.”
He said Prime Minister Modi has directed everyone to work for the development of women, youth, the poor and farmers.
“We are working in the same direction. The Ramchandraghat MLA who once praised me is now abusing me. We want to stay with you to build a new Tripura, but you people are not maintaining the rules of alliance partners, whereas we are maintaining them. PM Modi has been running the country with alliance partners, and we have never seen such behaviour there.”
“How can you make a statement that BJP will not be allowed in TTAADC? We will not tolerate such things. We have come here to work for the people and will continue to do so in the coming days. In the last years, Rs 126 crore has been given by our government to Ramchandraghat Assembly constituency. People will slowly reject them,” said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister further said that BJP formed the government with IPFT in 2018 and again won in 2023.
“Many discussions have been held on the Kokborok script. The Syamacharan Tripura Committee was formed in 1990, where it was mentioned that Roman script could be given. Then why was the Roman script not issued? The Pabitra Sarkar Committee was formed in 2004 during the CPIM rule, where it was mentioned that no script was suggested for Kokborok. Why were you silent then? They can speak about Hindi but will not allow the Devanagari script. They are trying to forcefully implement the Roman script to destroy Janajati culture. They are running the party through provocation and have created a factory to provoke people and confuse them,” he alleged. He added that many leaders were killed during the CPIM regime.
“We do not want murder, rape and violence in New Tripura. CPIM carried out massive violence in the state during their tenure,” he said.
During the meeting, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, Secretary Devid Debbarma, BJP Mahila Morcha President Mimi Majumder and others were present.
