One TSR jawan killed, women ASI injured after a miscreant dashed them at a Naka point
In tragic incident, one TSR jawan died and a women police assistant sub-inspector (ASI) along with a miscreant suffered critical injuries at Bagan area of Churaibari police station under North Tripura district on Wednesday midnight, when a miscreant in heavy speed dashed the on-duty police personnel at Naka checking point.
Giving details of the incident, North Tripura district Superintendent of Police (SP), Bhanupada Chakraborty said that few TSR jawans of 13th battalion led by Women ASI Ruma Debbarma were busy with election related duties at Naka point of Bagan area under Churaibari police station on Wednesday night.
One miscreant, identified as Abbas Ali with his motor bike tried to cross the Naka point at heavy speed, but when on-duty police personnel tried to stop, he dashed them and after losing his control on the bike had also fallen in the road, said Chakraborty.
He added that after the incident, one TSR jawan identified as Sandama Darlong of Dharmanagar suffered critical injuries along with Women ASI Ruma Debbarma and Abbas Ali.
Later, police personnel shifted all of them to Dharmanagar hospital, where a visiting doctor declared Sandama Debbarma as dead. ASI Ruma Debbarma was released from the hospital after primary treatment, while miscreant Abbas Ali admitted in the hospital due to his critical injuries.
SP said that police had registered a specific case and started an investigation, why the accused miscreant had tried to cross the Naka point by dashing police personnel on duty.
While, on Thursday after autopsy, the mortal remains of deceased TSR jawan were handed over to his relatives for last rites, who was killed in an unfortunate incident leaving wife and two children.
