Tipra Motha set record of corruption in ADC in the name of Thansa: CM
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Friday strongly criticized the Tipra Motha Party, alleging that over the past five years, the party has set a record of looting funds meant for development in TTAADC under the cover of the slogan Thansa.
He said that public support can never be won through force and Tipra Motha would not be able to stop the BJP’s victory by resorting to acts such as burning houses of ordinary Janajati people and forcing shops to close.
“Therefore, this corrupt party must be removed from the TTAADC, and a development-friendly government must be formed under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” he said.
Dr Saha said this while addressing a public meeting at Gabardi Bazar in support of BJP-nominated candidate Moji Debbarma in the Janmejaynagar constituency under the 17th Pekuajala Assembly segment.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Saha reiterated that votes cannot be won through force. “People will vote for the BJP because we do not believe in hooliganism,” he said.
“They speak of peace but act differently. What are they doing? They have created an atmosphere of unrest across Tripura. We are trying to give our 100 percent. I always consider myself one among you. The BJP is your party. We are one nation, and we always think about your welfare. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also works with your interests in mind. Our central leadership has always cared about tribal communities, unlike before,” he said.
In his speech, the Chief Minister said that Tipra Motha is trying to establish a culture of hooliganism in Tripura similar to that of the Trinamool Congress.
“People now understand everything. Tipra Motha has ruled the ADC for a long time, yet all one sees is corruption. From morning till night, they are engaged in looting. Whenever the state government releases funds, they only think about how to misuse it rather than focusing on tribal development,” he said.
He also urged tribal voters to support BJP candidates for the overall development of the ADC.
He encouraged people to cast their votes early in the morning, warning that there may be attempts to prevent voters from exercising their rights.
“Remember, you must raise your voice against such actions. The government and the Election Commission are on your side, so vote fearlessly. These propagandas are meant to mislead people. The public will not tolerate those who spread misinformation and resort to intimidation. The Bharatiya Janata Party governs the majority of states in India, and those who create unrest will not be spared. The law will take its own course,” he said.
Dr. Saha also said that people have now understood the strategies of Tipra Motha.
“They are once again raising the issue of Greater Tipraland. But in a democracy, the people have the final say. Nothing is possible without democratic support,” he added.
Higher Education Minister Kishore Burman, MLA Sushanta Deb, Sepahijala District Sabhadhipati Supriya Das Dutta, and several other BJP leaders were present at the rally.
