In another successful operations, the Agartala city police on Wednesday busted a gang of thieves involved with stolen incidents of e-rickshaw batteries and computer UPS and arrested two gang members with recovery of some stolen items.

Speaking with media at East Agartala police station on Wednesday evening, SDPO (Sadar) Ajoy Kumar Das said on December 12 one Bijoy Kumar Banik had registered a complaint that thieves had stolen away the batteries from his e-rickshaw and during investigation; the OC of East PS Rana Chatterjee found a gang of thieves were involved in multiple stolen incidents.

On Wednesday, the investigation team managed to arrest to gang members identified as Krishna Das and Suhel Chowdhury and recovered some stolen batteries, UPS and a car under their possession.

Das said that the car seized under possession of two arrested thieves often used their attempts of robbery and police are now launched search operation to arrest remaining thieves of the gang.  Both arrested thieves will be produced before a local court on Thursday with police remand appeals for interrogation, said Das.
