Police destroys 1.20 lakh Ganja saplings in Bishalgarh
In a significant success in anti-narcotics operation, the Bishalgarh police station of Sepahijala district on Saturday destroyed huge number of Cannabis (Ganja) saplings located at Gojaria area on Saturday.
Based on the secret information, the new OC of Bishalgarh police station, Bijoy Das along with a large contingent force destroyed about 1.20 lakh Ganja saplings in a nursery located in the Gojaria area. According to reports, on instructions from the state administration, the police across the state have launched efforts to dismantle cannabis nurseries. Unlike earlier when action was taken only once the cannabis plants had matured, authorities are now targeting nurseries right from the start.
OC Bijoy Das said that police will continue their operations against Ganja plantations across Bishalgarh subdivisions and will destroy more plants in coming days.
