Pradesh Congress releases election manifesto with five ‘Nyay’
The opposition Congress on Tuesday released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections with ample commitments for five sectors of the society with five ‘Nyay’.
Addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan on Tuesday afternoon, Tripura Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha accompanied by All India Congress SC Cell Chairman Rajesh Lilothia, Congress MLA and permanent invitee member of CWC Sudip Roy Barman, AICC secretary Szarita Laitphlang, Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy, former TPCC president Pijush Kanti Biswas released the party’s commitment to ‘Nyay’ (Justice) through its ‘five pillars’.
Saha urging the people of the state to vote in favor of INDIA Bloc candidates; Ashish Kumar Saha from West Tripura seat and Rajendra Reang in the East seat, the Congress leaders announced the manifesto centered around Justice in five crucial sectors; ‘Yuva Nyay’, ‘Nari Nyay’, ‘Kisan Nyay’, ‘Shramik Nyay’ and ‘Hissedari Nyay’.
Giving details of the the party manifesto titled Nyay Patra, Saha said that the party's election manifesto focuses on 'Paanch Nyay' or five pillars of justice, including 'Yuva Nyay', 'Naari Nyay', 'Kisaan Nyay', 'Shramik Nyay' and 'Hissedari Nyay' as well as the guarantees made by it to the people as part of its poll promises for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The party in its manifesto also says that the party will conduct a nationwide Socio-Economic and Caste Census to enumerate the castes and sub-castes and their socio-economic conditions and it will pass a constitutional amendment to raise the 50 percent cap on reservations for SC, ST and OBC.
The Congress manifesto was compiled after carrying out nationwide consultations and after receiving thousands of suggestions via email and our 'Awaaz Bharat Ki' website, said Saha
He said that suggestions and comments were also solicited through an online website which was rightly called "Awaaz Bharat Ki".
"Whatever has been promised in the Manifesto will be strictly implemented. Before making promises in the Manifesto, in-depth deliberation has been made to ensure that these promises are implementable," said AICC’s SC Cell Chairman Rajesh Lilothia.
Rajesh Lilothia briefly highlighted the eras of both UPA and NDA governments alleging that the ‘BJP has taken the country to a verge of destruction in all spheres’.
“The Congress also promises to reserve 50 percent of central government jobs for women from 2025. Besides, the party will also ensure acknowledgement to LGBTQIA+ couples. MSP and development for farmers, employment opportunities for youths, among others will be the priority of the government”, said Lilothia.
The AICC SC Cell Chairman further took a dig at the Modi led government in the Centre over ‘anti-people policies’, ‘mis-governance’, ‘price hike’ and other issues.
