In a tragic incident, the body of a ten month old pregnant woman was found in hanging condition in Jamtilla area of East Ganki under Khowai district on Tuesday, while her family alleged that husband killed her.

Sources said that since Tuesday afternoon the deceased woman identified as Sumita Debbarma (33), wife of Sumanta Debbarma, a retrenched 10, 323 teacher was missing. After a long search in all adjoining areas and houses of all relatives, on Wednesday morning her hanging body was recovered from a rubber garden about one kilometer away from her house.

After this sensational and heartrending incident, police personnel from Khowai women police station rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

The in-laws of the deceased woman claimed that she was suffering psychological disorder and committed suicide by hanging herself. But, the family of the deceased woman claimed that her husband killed her and to hide the evidence hung her body in a tree.

They also said that on Wednesday,  Sumita had scheduled a Caesarean section delivery of her baby at Khowai hospital, but unfortunately they recovered her hanging body.The deceased woman was also a mother of a 3-years old girl .

Police sources said that they shifted the body to hospital morgue for autopsy and till findings of autopsy report, they cannot say specially the nature of the death.
