Public awareness should be created against addiction: CJ of High Court
Project 'Mukti' has been launched under the initiative of Tripura State Legal Services Authority with the aim of completely eradicating drugs, ganja and other narcotic substances from the society. With the aim of making drug-free Tripura, by launching Project ‘Mukti’ a massive public awareness will be created and swift legal action will be taken against those involved in drug trade. Chief Justice of Tripura High Court and Patron-in-Chief of Tripura State Legal Services Authority Aparesh Kumar Singh launched project ‘Mukti’ by unveiling the cover of ‘Mukti’ booklet on Friday at Tripura State Legal Services Authority office conference hall.
On the occasion, Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Aparesh Kumar Singh said, Project Mukti is an extraordinary and different kind of programme. This programme is undertaken for the people of Tripura. For the successful implementation of this programme, everyone should collectively work hand in hand to create public awareness against drug addiction. Paralegal volunteers should be made more active through the network of Tripura State Legal Services Authorities. Along with police administration, gram panchayats, village communities, social organizations should also be equally active. He said that de-addiction centres with necessary facilities should be built in sufficient numbers for those who are already addicted to drugs so that the addicts can easily get treatment as well as rehabilitation. He sought everyone's cooperation in making Tripura drug free. Judge of Tripura High Court and Executive Chairman of Tripura State Legal Services Authority T Amarnath Goud, Judge of Tripura High Court and Chairman of High Court Legal Services Committee A. Lodh, Member Secretary of Tripura State Legal Services Authority Datamohan Jamatia and others were present on the occasion. Other concerned officials including general administration and police administration from all over the state participated in this programme through video conference.
