Raksha Bandhan celebrated across Tripura with pomp and grandeur
‘Raksha Bandhan’ festival was celebrated across the state with pomp and grandeur along with other parts of the country.
School and college along with many women on Wednesday visited the official residence of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and tied ‘Rakhi’ around the wrist of the Chief Minister.
The students in different institutions have celebrated ‘Raksha Bandhan’ in different parts of the state since Wednesday
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha in a social media message said that “The festival of #RakshaBandhan symbolizes the bonding & selfless love between the siblings. On this occasion, my sisters from various parts of the state tied Rakhi to me at my official residence today.”
Opposition Congress also observed the day, women from different sections of the society tied ‘Rakhi’ to leaders during a programme held at Congress Bhavan in Agartala.
Meanwhile, on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, all ranks of Border Security Force (BSF) posted at Akhaura check post celebrated the day, where school children and women from different walks of life tied Rakhi to the jawans of BSF. The ladies tied Rakhis to the soldiers and prayed for the wellbeing of the border guards for their onerous service.
