Recovery of 4 pistols from Amtali, inter-state arms smuggling network involved, police

After recovery of four sophisticated pistols along with magazines buried underground at the residence of one drug smuggler Dipankar Sen in North Madhyapara area under Amtali police station on Tuesday midnight, who is currently in jail custody in another Arms case.
Police sources said that they have initiated investigation over recovery of the four pistols from the house of Dipankar Sen to unearth the inter-state arms smuggling network, which he procured from Nagaland.
While briefing the media, SP (West Tripura) Namit Pathak said that firearms were concealed beneath the soil within the house premises of Sen, who is already in judicial custody in connection with a previous arms case.
Based on intelligence inputs, police during the raid at his house on Tuesday night recovered four sophisticated pistols and 7 magazines.
SP said that investigation is going on to identify the source of the seized weapons and whether they are connected to a larger network.
