SC Morcha leader recovered in blooded condition, BJP accuses opposition for dreaded attack
After one Suman Das, the SC Morcha president of Banamalipur BJP Mandal admitted to the trauma centre of GB Hospital in critical condition on Tuesday morning with multiple cut injuries, the political tension escalated across Agartala.
Ruling BJP accused opposition parties for the dreaded attack on Suman Das, while opposition parties condemning the incident claimed the BJP encouraged miscreants as the incident happened due to old rivalry and for dispute for illegal trading.
The state police in a statement said that Suman Das was attacked this morning by a sharp cutting weapon in the embankment area between Ashram Choumohani and Aralia under East Agartala police station. The victim youth in his statement has identified two attackers during the treatment at GB Hospital and police had also arrested two miscreants identified as Diptanu Biswas and Atanu Biswas.
Police added that prima facie it is a case of business rivalry and police have intensified the patrolling in that area.
Meanwhile, after Suman Das was recovered in blooded condition with multiple injuries and shifted to GB Hospital, top leaders including Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, former chief minister and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb along with Assembly speaker Ratan Chakraborty rushed to the hospital and enquired his treatment process.
Speaking with media persons, Chief Minister Dr Saha strongly condemned the incident and claimed it was an ‘unholy’ nexus among opposition CPI(M) and Congress. He said miscreants owing allegiance with Congress party involved in the incident and they demanded immediate action.
Dr Saha said that their party has also lodged a complaint before the state police and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura to arrest all culprits involved in the dreaded attack.
BJP on Tuesday evening has also organized a big protest rally in Banamalipur assembly constituency accusing Congress for the incident.
