The second National Lok Adalat for the year 2026 will be held on Saturday (May 9th, 2026) across Tripura to resolve 25,514 pending cases.
The Member secretary Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA), VP Debbarma said that based on the directives of National Legal Service Authority, a total of 46 courts of Tripura including High Court will be set up to resolve the 25,514 pending cases will be taken up for disposal through 46 benches.
Out of the total cases, 20,779 are pending court cases, while 4,735 are related to pre-litigation disputes.
According to the press release, the cases to be taken up include 347 motor accident compensation cases, 197 matrimonial disputes, 4,485 bank loan recovery cases, 250 BSNL bill-related cases, and 20,184 compoundable criminal cases under various Acts such as the MB Act, TP Act, TG Act and Excise Act.
In addition, 27 cheque bounce cases under the NI Act, 5 civil cases, 5 arbitration matters, 3 commercial suits, and 11 service-related matters will also be disposed of during the National Lok Adalat.
At the Tripura High Court, 28 cases will be taken up for settlement through a single bench.
Notices have already been issued to all concerned parties. Executive Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority, Justice Dr. Amarnath Goud, has issued necessary directions for the successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat.
Member Secretary of the TSLSA, VP Debbarma has appealed to all concerned to take advantage of the opportunity for speedy disposal of cases without legal expenses.
