Seven Tripura police personnel get president’s police medals on 77th R-Day
Altogether seven Tripura police personnel have been selected for Police Medal for distinguished service and Police medal for meritorious service on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Republic Day.
Significantly, as per the Union Home ministry’s list of the policemen for the medals has included a junior level cop and this year Police Havildar (general Duty), Shiv Charan Debbarma of 7th battalion TSR has been named or the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) on the occasion of R-Day-2026
For the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) on the occasion of R-Day-2026 include SDPO(Sadar) Debaprasad Roy, Subedar Pradip Chandra Das (5th battalion TSR), Havildar (GD) Bipul Deb of 7th battalion TSR, police constable Jiban Debnath of South Tripura, police Assistant Sub-Inspector Amal Datta of Traffic unit and ASI Dhrubajyoti Halder of Special Branch (SB).
This year no Home Guard jawan from Tripura has not been awarded with the President Home Guard and Civil Defence medal for meritorious service.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha through his congratulated all Tripura police personnel on being named for President's Medals (PSM & MSM) on the occasion of 76th Republic Day.
