Shootout at Jirania, two accused arrested, US made pistol recovered
Tripura police have arrested two criminals involved with the shootout incident held at Sadhupara area of Jirania under West Tripura district on April 13 night and have also recovered a weapon of offence, a US made pistol.
Police said that after the shootout incident, one Chiranjib Debnath filed an FIR at Jirania police station and during investigation, police based on the FIR registered under section 120(B), 225, 307 of IPC and 27 of Arms Act has arrested on accused person, identified as Sanjib Debbarma of Joyram Sardar Para under Champaknagar police outpost.
Based on the interrogation statement of the arrested criminal, police in the wee hours of Sunday have managed to arrest the main accused involved in the shootout, identified as Rabindra Debbarma from Khumwlung and has also recovered one US made pistol with three live rounds and two magazines from an abandoned house.
Police added that both accused persons were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for interrogation. While, police suspected that the shootout incident was held due to recovery of personal loan amount.
