Shootout in city, two injured
In a shootout incident held at South Joynagar area of Agartala on Tuesday evening , two persons sustained bullet injuries, which created panic among local dwellers.
After a hot altercation sparking an old rivalry among two groups in South Joynagar area of Agartala on Tuesday evening, a miscreant started firing targeting his rival party and as a result two persons suffered bullet injuries, who are now out of danger.
SDPO(Sadar) Ashish Dasgupta said that soon after the incident was reported police rushed to the spot and started investigation. He said that police have also launched a search operation to arrest accused Deepraj Sutradhar, who all of sudden started firing from a pistol targeting his rival group.
Local sources said that miscreant Deepraj Sutradhar, son of Gouranga Sutradhar is a known drug addict, had fired six rounds and injured Mantu Ghosh and Mahadev Ghosh, who suffered bullet injuries in their legs.
After the incident, local people shifted both injured persons to GB Hospital and after primary treatment, hospital sources said that the condition of both injured is stable and they are out of danger.
SDPO(Sadar) said police are investigating the shootout incident and hoped that soon they will be able to arrested accused miscreant Deepraj Sutradhar.
