Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers hosts ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ at Sandhyaneer, donates Rs 1.2lLakh for welfare of elderly mothers
Leading jewellery brand Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers on Monday organized a special tribute programme titled ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ at Sandhyaneer, celebrating motherhood and extending support to elderly women residing at the home.
The initiative, conceived as a heartfelt homage to mothers, aims to go beyond symbolic gestures of respect and recognize the true essence of motherhood. This year’s edition was dedicated to elderly mothers living at Sandhyaneer — a shelter for women who have no family support in the evening phase of their lives.
The programme was marked by warmth, affection and celebration, reflecting the spirit of the New Year 2026. The organizers distributed gifts among the residents and spent time interacting with them, creating an atmosphere of joy and togetherness.
As part of the initiative, the directors of Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers handed over a cheque of Rs 1, 20,000 towards the welfare and care of the elderly mothers residing at the home.
Addressing the gathering, Arpita Saha, Director of the company, said, “We have always taken our pursuit of excellence beyond the four walls of our jewellery showrooms and shown concern for social issues, extending a helping hand whenever the need arose. ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ at Sandhyaneer gave us immense joy in lighting up faces in this old-age home and celebrating mothers and motherhood, because nothing on earth is more precious.”
Rishiroop Saha, Director of the company, emphasised the moral responsibility of children towards their parents. “Mothers bring us into this world and are always there for us. It is the responsibility of every worthy son and daughter to take care of their mother, especially at an age when she is unable to fend for herself. ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ is a step in that direction and calls for a larger social movement to bring smiles to the faces of abandoned mothers watching the sunset of their lives,” he said.
The event concluded with a sit-in lunch for the residents and guests, ending the day’s celebrations on a warm and sweet note.
