Six Bangladeshi detained from Teliamura before their exfiltrate bid
Six more Bangladesh nationals including children were detained in the Icharbil area near Teliamura Railway station on Friday.
BSF sources said that on Friday at about 4 PM, based on specific intelligence, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of BSF detained six Bangladeshi nationals including a children and one suspected Indian tout at Teliamura Railway Station while they were de-boarding Train No. 15664 Silchar-Agartala Express. The apprehended Bangladeshi nationals were returning from Bangalore and had planned to exfiltrate to Bangladesh.
Later, all detained Bangladesh national and Indian tout were handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
In another operation, BSF troops of BOP Kullubari under Sepahijala district foiled an attempt at smuggling when a group of miscreants tried to throw a consignment over the border fence. The troops seized two packets containing a huge quantity of suspected yaba tablets. The exact quantity and value of the seized Yaba tablets are being ascertained.
Additionally, in various operations, BSF Tripura seized foreign cigarettes and other contraband worth ₹30 lakhs. BSF has intensified operations along both the border and the hinterland to prevent exfiltration, infiltration and trans-border crimes.
