Six drug peddlers arrested from two separate parts with large quantities of Heroin

In two successful operations, Tripura police on Sunday arrested six drug peddlers from two different parts of the state and recovered large quantities of Brown Sugar under their possessions.
Police sources said that based on secret information, a contingent of police personnel from East Agartala police station raided at the shop one Diptanu Saha at College Tilla and as per information, during the raid police recovered 180 vials filled with Heroin and 22 contraband cough syrup along with some cash amount.
OC of East Agartala police station, Subrata Debnath said that as per the preliminary interrogation of arrested drug peddler, Diptanau Saha, police raided in another place of the city and managed to arrest three more drug peddlers , identified as Hriday Das, Tapan Banik and Krishna Biswas.
He said all arrested drug peddlers were produced before a court with police remand appeals under a specific case of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
In another raid under Damcherra police station of North Tripura district, police detained two persons coming from Mizoram portion towards Tripura via Dasarath Sethu (Bridge) through a scooty.
During a search on their vehicle, police recovered two big packets of Heroin, hidden in the scooty and arrested two drug smugglers Altab Hussain and Abu Rejab Karim, both were residents of Assam state. Police added that arrested drug smugglers were produced before a court in North Tripura district under NDPS Act case with police remand appeal for interrogation.
