Six gamblers arrested by East Agartala police
By strengthening the drive against drugs and gambling, the East Agartala police on Friday again managed to arrest gamblers from their hideout and seized accessories for gambling including mobile phones and cash.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of East Agartala police station, Subrata Debnath said that based on secret information, police personnel from East Agartala police station raided at Aralia Panchabati Bazar on Friday afternoon, near river Howrah and managed to arrest six gamblers in red-handed.
He said that during the raid, police had also seized a cash amount of Rs. 4,175, three mobile sets and other accessories of ‘Thir’ gambling under their possessions.
OC added that, earlier on last week police had also arrested 11 gamblers from different parts of the city. Debnath also said that all arrested gamblers will be produced before a local court on Saturday for further legal proceedings.
