Six police, TSR personnel including an officer sustained critical injuries in road mishap at Charilam

In a tragic road accident, at least five to six police and TSR personnel including a Sub-Inspector (SI) suffered critical injuries during their routine patrolling at the National Highway portion of Charilam under Sepahijala district on Saturday.

Police sources said that a police van with 5 to 6 police and TSR jawans led by a police SI were conducting their routine patrolling on Saturday noon and when their vehicle reached near Parimal Chowmuhani area, the driver of the vehicle lost his control and fell in a roadside ditch.

As a result, all security personnel including the driver of the vehicle suffered critical injuries. Immediately, police, firefighters with help of local people rescued them and shifted them to Charilam primary health centre.

Later, all injured persons were referred to GB Hospital due to their critical injuries.
