TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore meets Amit Shah, top leaders’ leaves for Delhi today, rubbishes rumours of seat sharing
After calls from Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Tipra-Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma met Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi last night, negotiates for state within the state and for their ‘Greater Tipraland’ demand.
Sources said that North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convener and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma too attended the meeting with Amit Shah and Pradyot.
While, a team of senior leaders of Tipra-Motha including Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl, Jagadish Debbarma, Chitta Ranjan Debbarma and Animesh Debbarma on Wednesday afternoon left the state towards New Delhi.
Before leaving for Delhi , Animesh Debbarma speaking with media persons said that last night Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore had attended a meeting of the Union Home Minister.
“Its look like that Home Ministry is very sympatric with our issues and they are serious to address our issues and there will be a meeting with leaders of Tipra-Motha, may be top leaders of BJP and high official of minister will be there,” said Animesh and added that tonight they have couple of meetings .
The issue of Greater Tipraland and the constitutional demand will be the core issues of dialogue with the Home Minister and other top officials, said Animesh. He added that if the centre provides the constitutional solution, then their party will continue for further talks with BJP like seat sharing etc.
As per the sources, during last night's meeting, Pradyot discussed the demand for Greater Tipraland and also negotiated for state within the state.
Meanwhile, TIPRA Motha rubbishes rumours of seat sharing, sticks to written assurance from Centre
Taking to his social media handle, the Motha chief wrote, " Contrary to rumours there has been NO talks of seat sharing as reported with any party ! We have received intimation from ministry of home affairs that they would like to talk to us on our demand for a constitutional solution to our demand of Greater Tipraland . We have repeatedly said UNTIL we don't get a written assurances from GOI on the constitutional solution of our demand we will not go in for any alliance leave alone seat sharing . Please don't jump the gun and relax - we know how to negotiate for our people to the maximum”.
