As the prospect of holding election of Village Committees (VC) in the Areas Autonomous District (ADC) of the before the next assembly election in absence of fresh electoral rolls, the Tipra-Motha on Sunday claimed that governments intentionally deprived the rights of village people for their political intention.
The State Election Commission (SEC) on last date of final roll publication of October 15, was unable to published the rolls for the Village Committee election before the final publication of voter list for the assembly by the Election Commission of India (ECI), which is scheduled to be published on January 5th, 2023 next.
Addressing a press conference her at Chandra Mahal, the president of Tipra-Motha Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhwal accompanied by other leaders of the party including chairman of ADC Jagadish Debbarma strongly condemned the government’s steps and said that Motha protest of the deliberate intention of the both central and state government will organize satewide protest demonstration in subdivisions and all districts on October 19th next.
Tipra-Motha will also organize another mass gathering of party supporters on November 5th next by organizing a big rally at Vivekananda stadium (Astabal ground) to tell the governments of their negative attitude towards the development of ADC, said Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhwal.
He said "it is a serious matter and has been created by the state government by confusing the rural areas of the state and they trying to blindfold the people of the state in an excuse point of inclusion of 22,000 Bru voter names and in the last one year, the government has included the names of only 5000 Bru votes," said Hrangkhwal .
The aim and object of the government is very clear to avoid the village development and unless and until, the Village Committees are not formed constitutionally, it is very difficult for VC to continue the developmental works in hills, said Hrangkhwal.
"Today, we are really sorry to say that the ruling both centre and the state governments had stalled the development of VCs and they are not given any regards and any respect to the constitution after two times, the High Court of Tripura indicated to hold the VC elections," said Hrangkhwal.
"We don’t under the denial of people’s right and direct denial, whereas the state had conducted other civic bodies elections despite pandemic”, said Hrangkhwal and that the people of Tripura are not with the intentional denial of their rights. He said that Tipra-Motha’s supremo Pradyut Kishore Debbarma instructed all party leaders to stand together against the direct denial of governments and Tipra-Motha strongly condemned the process of the government by which they denied the rights of the people.
