Tribal girl students from Dima Hasao meet Tripura Governor during inter-state educational tour
In a proud and inspiring moment, a group of tribal girl students from Assam’s Dima Hasao district had the rare opportunity to interact with Indrasena Reddy Nallu during an inter-state educational tour facilitated by the Assam Rifles, marking a significant milestone in their journey of learning and empowerment.
The initiative, organized by the 21 Sector Assam Rifles, brought 21 girl students from various tribal communities of Assam to Tripura. The students are currently undergoing training at the Free Computer Learning Centre run by A Ray of Hope, a dedicated NGO based in Haflong. They were accompanied by eight volunteers actively supporting their academic and personal development.
The interaction with the Governor emerged as the highlight of the tour. In an engaging and motivational exchange, the students shared their journeys of resilience and determination, highlighting how access to education and digital literacy is helping them shape aspirations for a better future. Their stories reflected a strong sense of purpose and growing confidence to pursue independence and leadership.
The Governor lauded the courage and ambition of the young learners and appreciated the efforts of the Assam Rifles and AROH in uplifting marginalized communities through meaningful educational initiatives. The interaction boosted the morale of the students and reinforced the importance of knowledge, self-belief, and perseverance.
The inter-state educational tour has been designed to broaden perspectives and inspire ambition among the participants, many of whom are stepping outside their home district for the first time. As part of the tour, the students will visit key landmarks in Tripura, including Albert Ekka War Memorial, Ujjayanta Palace, Neer Mahal, and Integrated Check Post Agartala.
Such initiatives underscore the continued commitment of the Assam Rifles towards nation-building and social outreach in the Northeast. By empowering young tribal girls through education and opportunity, the force remains a steadfast partner in fostering progress, inclusivity, and hope in remote regions.
