Tripura assembly polls: BJP CEC to finalise candidates Friday
The Central Election Committee (CEC) of BJP is scheduled to meet at New Delhi on Friday to finalise its candidates for assembly elections for Tripura.
Sources said that the CEC meeting will be Chaired by party's national president J.P. Nadda at the BJP headquarters in Delhi will finalise the list in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sources added that a detailed discussion on each candidate took place on Thursday during the core group meeting in presence of Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, party’s state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, deputy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varma, union minister of state Pratima Bhowmik and two MPs Biplab Kumar Deb and Rebati Tripura in presence of Election In charge Mahesh Sharma, BJP Northeast convenor Sambit Patra and a list of candidates prepared for discussion in the CEC meeting.
During the CEC meeting, apart from Nadda, PM Modi and the General Secretary organisation B L Santosh, the CEC meeting will be attended by Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Sarbananda Sonowal, Bhupendra Yadav, B. S. Yediyurappa, Vanathi Srinivasan, Satyanarayan Jatiya and others top leaders and members, including the members of the Parliamentary Board, will also be there in attendance.
