Tripura creates another history of violence-free election after 2023: CM
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Saturday said that after 2023, Tripura has created another history by holding a violence-free election.
Dr Saha said this while addressing a massive election campaign at Karamcherra in support of BJP candidate for East parliamentary constituency, Kriti Singh Debbarma.
On this day, Dr Saha also slammed the opposition parties for creating confusion among the people.
“The INDI alliance is even unable to decide who will be the Prime Minister, as they have failed to form this INDI alliance properly. In Kerala and West Bengal, CPIM and Congress are fighting with each other while in Tripura they are together. This alliance has no base,” said Dr. Saha.
He said that before 2014, it was not sure whether this country would survive or not, but after Narendra Modi came, everything changed.
“In entire India and in the NE region, there was unrest, but now peace is prevailing everywhere. We have seen how leaders of other countries respect PM Modi by calling him Mr. Boss. PM Modi always works for women, youth, farmers, and the poor and said if these four sectors are developed, then the country is developed. Many people were not aware of the Northeast, but when PM Modi came, he stressed on the NE and gave us the HIRA Model, Act East Policy. Due to these, we have witnessed massive development,” he said.
Dr Saha said that the work of the opposition is to create confusion among people.
“We have seen how violence took place in this state during CPIM’s rule and opposition party leaders had to leave the state. This election is crucial for making a developed nation. This election is crucial to protect our country, ensure a corruption-free India, etc. The opposition always said in Tripura democracy is nowhere. But during their time, many people were killed. Even their Health Minister was killed, government officials were killed. After this election, I will see whether we can reopen the political murders cases,” said Dr Saha.
He further emphasized that this government always works focusing on solving people’s problems and has created another history of violence-free polls.
"After 2023, history was made yet again yesterday, as in the first phase of polling in the West Parliamentary constituency election, not a single instance of violence occurred. Our party staunchly opposes violence. BJP, IPFT, Tipra Motha are collaborating to build a unified Tripura, a better Tripura. Over 81% of the electorate cast their votes in Tripura, marking the highest turnout."
