Tripura transforming towards a best state of the country, CM
The main goal of the present state government is to transform Tripura into best state of India in every sector including health, education and connectivity, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
Unveiling the report card of the state government during a programme held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala on Wednesday , Dr Saha said that to make Tripura as the best state of the country, the government is continuing its work of public welfare maintaining peace and prosperity in the state. Government’s different services and benefits are being delivered till the last person of the society, said Chief Minister .
On Wednesday , the Chief Minister after unveiling the cover of the state government’s report card and combined booklets on the development and achievements of the state said, the state government had promised to bring its combined achievements report card before the people. The government has been able to keep its promise. It is not an easy task to prepare an elaborate report of the developmental works implemented by the present state government. That is why, the Planning & Commission department, Government of Tripura has taken the initiative to bring up the report card on achievements in important sectors conclusively.
The Chief Minister said, the state government is working for the overall welfare of the people under the guidance of the Prime Minister. The state government has achieved plenty of success in each and every sector starting from connectivity to health and education. The state government has even received different awards from the central government. He said, 6 NH roads are being constructed for better connectivity services of the state with the sincere cooperation of the central government. The central government has allotted 10 thousand 222 crore rupees for construction of 7 more NH roads including transformation of Assam- Agartala NH road (NH-8) into 4-lane road. Besides, setting up of 4 Ropeways in the state has been approved.
Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma said, the government has published its report card to generate awareness among the public about the welfare works implemented in the past 4.5 years. The present state government has created new milestones in every sector including education, health, agriculture, connectivity and infrastructure. The government is working in mission mode in each and every sector. As a result, huge success has been achieved in the state in improving power infrastructure including rail, airways and road connectivity. The state government and Asian Development Bank recently has signed a historic contract of 2,275 crore rupees for the implementation of a power project. As a result, the state is forging ahead with new vision on new direction.
Secretary of P&C department Apurba Roy in his welcome speech said, 10 important sectors have been featured on the report card and in the combined booklets of the state government’s achievements, such as education, agriculture, health, women and child welfare, tribal welfare, infrastructure, finance and industry, law & order and tourism. Besides, every department has published its combined booklet on its achievements. Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha also spoke on the occasion. Other dignitaries present in the programme were Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Manoj Kanti Deb, SC Welfare Minister Bhagaban Chandra Das and Jail Minister Ram Prasad Paul. The Chief Minister has unveiled the booklet of agriculture, higher education, school education and other department and booklet on achievements of Prati Ghare Sushason campaign.
