Tripura’s Deputy Drugs Controller shines at iPHEX 2025 in New Delhi

The International Exhibition of Pharma & Healthcare (iPHEX) 2025, organised at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, is being held from 4th to 6th September 2025. on the opening day, following the inaugural session on 4th September, Smt. Kanchan Sinha, Deputy Drugs Controller, Drugs Control Administration of Tripura government was conferred the Best Woman Drugs Control Officer Award.
The award, instituted by the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil), recognises her outstanding achievement, dynamic leadership and commendable contribution towards strengthening India’s drug regulatory ecosystem.
The inaugural session was graced by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, along with other eminent dignitaries including Namit Joshi, Chairman, Pharmexcil; Bhavin M. Mehta, Vice Chairman, Pharmexcil & Chairman, iPHEX 2025; Raja Bhanu, Director General, Pharmexcil; Pankaj Chadha, Chairman, EEPC India; Shri Amit Agrawal, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals; Nitin Kumar Yadav, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry; and Dr. Rajiv Singh Raghuvanshi, Drug Controller General of India (DCGI).
While, Smt. Kanchan Sinha in a message said that “It is a matter of great pride and gratitude to receive this recognition. Having joined service in 1988, I have completed 37 years of a journey that was not easy, but immensely rewarding. Entering and growing in a male-dominated profession was a challenge, yet with determination and the support of my mentors, colleagues, and family, I dedicated myself to ensuring quality and safe medicines for the people of Tripura. This recognition is not mine alone—it belongs to every woman who aspires to break barriers and serve society with commitment and integrity.”
The recognition of Smt. Kanchan Sinha has brought pride to Tripura, highlighting the contribution of women leaders in strengthening India’s healthcare and regulatory framework.
