Two Bihar youths arrested from Agartala station with dry Ganja
The Agartala railway station, which become a most preferable travelling spot for human trafficking as well as vast trade network of narcotic items by the inter-state and international smugglers for transportation of their smuggle items and after arrest of many inter-state drug peddlers, again on Tuesday two peddlers from Bihar were arrested with dry Ganja, who arrived in the city for their two-way smuggling bid.
Police sources said that during regular checking of all platforms inside Agartala Railway station on Tuesday, a team of Government Railway Police (GRP) along with RPF detained two suspected youths from platform number-1 before their boarding in a long distance train.
During checking of their bags, GRP recovered a total of 21.48 kilograms of dry Cannabis (Ganja) under the possessions of two drug peddlers, identified as Bipin Kumar Mandal and Dhanraj Kumar of Bihar state, who were engaged in inter-state drug transportation.
Sources said that these two arrested youths arrived at the city, mainly to collect dry Cannabis (Ganja) and with the target of double-profit.
Police added that during preliminary interrogation arrested youths revealed their network of two-way narcotic trade and both of them will be forwarded before a local court under a specific case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act with police remand appeals for further interrogation.
