Two bodies including a woman recovered in past 24-hrs
In a tragic incident, police recovered a body of a women in mysterious condition from Chinaihani area under Airport police station on Monday morning and in another incident, one Maruti van driver died on the spots and five more passengers suffered injuries, when they met a road accident in the Chirstmass midnight at Bamutia area of West Tripura district.
Police sources said that the deceased woman was identified as Pinki Das, mother of three minor daughters, wife of Prasanta Ghosh of Ghosh-Para of Chinaihani area and police also detained Prasanta Ghosh and his mother Ashu Ghosh for primary interrogation.
Sources said that accused husband Prasanta Ghosh just two days ago severely assaulted his wife disputing some family issues and on Monday morning, the body of Pinki Das was recovered at the floor of their room in mysterious condition.
Local villages and relatives of the deceased woman alleged that her husband often physically tortured her and she may be died due to excessive torture by her husband. While demanding immediate arrest of suspected accused Prasanta Ghosh and her mother, the villagers also gheraoed the house. Later, police rescued both the son and his mother and brought them to the police.
While, OC of Airport police station said that a forensic team had collected all circumstantial evidence from the spot and till the findings of autopsy report, police could not say anything in details over the nature of the death.
In another incident, one Maruti car driver died on the spot at midnight of Christmas and five more people suffered injuries due to reckless driving.
Police sources said that deceased driver Subhankar Biswas (25) met the road accident in heavy speed at Tebariya village area under Bamutia police outpost of West Tripura district after he with few passengers were returning their home from Agartala after the celebration of Christmass. Whe, the Maruti van reached Tebariya, the driver lost his control due to heavy speed and crashed with a road side tree.
After hearing heavy sound, local villagers rushed to the spot and with help of firefighters, they shifted all injured persons to GB Hospital, where visiting doctors declared Subhankar Biswas as brought dead. Police added that the condition of five injured person is stable and they all were admitted to the hospital.
