Two bodies of middle aged women recovered, rape and murder suspects
Two decomposed bodies of two middle aged women were recovered from two separate places of Agartala and its vicinity on Wednesday morning in mysterious conditions.
Police sources said that the police personnel from Amtali police station rushed to Panchamukh area after local villagers found the decomposed body of a lonely lady from her hatchet house.
Police rushed to the spot and they opened the door of the hut, which had been locked inside and after breaking the door, police found the decomposed and naked body of Mira Deb (54), by profession a domestic helper staying at the house alone after her only daughter married in another place.
Giving details of the incident, SI Hirendra Debbarma of Amtali police station said that a forensic team has collected all circumstantial evidence in presence of a magistrate and police after recovering the body , and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
Local, villagers claimed that the way body of the deceased Mira Deb was recovered, they suspected that the lonely lady was raped and murder by unknown miscreants taking the advantage of her loneliness.
Police added that they suspected that the deceased woman might have died about 10 to 12 days ago and they cannot rule out any foul play, but claimed that till the findings of forensic and autopsy reports, police cannot say anything specifically over the nature of the death. Police have also registered a specific case and started an investigation to unearth the mystery of the death.
In another incident, another destitute and lone lady, who stayed in the club room of ‘Shristi Club’ in Border Gul Chakkar area under West Agartala police station was also found dead on Wednesday morning.
Police said that the deceased woman was identified as Jalaye Khatun (55), who lived in the club room as she does not have any relatives. Police sent her body to GB Hospital for an autopsy to find out the reason for her death.
