Two ladies drug peddlers arrested with huge Heroin near Jogendranagar Railway station
The Agartala city police in another successful operation managed to arrest two lady drug peddlers near Jogendranagar Railway station with huge quantities of Heroin.
Giving details, SP(WestTripura), Kiran Kumar speaking with media persons at A=East Agartala police station on Monday said that based on secret information, a contingent of police personnel led by OC East Agartala police station, Subrata Debnath detained two suspected women from an auto-rickshaw stand near Jogendranagar Railway station after they arrived from Silchar, Assam on Sunday afternoon.
As per the information, when women police conducted a search on them, police recovered nine packets contained with high quality Heroin, weighing 97.5 grams from their bags, said SP and added that police have arrested both ladies, identified as Rosna Begum (35) of Bishalgarh and Kulsum Begam (35) of Madhupur area under Sepahijala district, who were gang members of a inter-state drug transportation racket.
He said that both arrested drug peddlers were produced before a local court with police remand appeals in a specific case registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act 1985.
Kumar also said that day by day Agartala city police are getting tremendous success by bursting the racket of drug trading networks and arresting a number of smugglers with contraband items. He also said that police will intensify their anti-drug operations and hoped that after interrogation of two arrested ladies, they will get more information about the inter-state drug transportation racket.
