Two minor girls drowned in lake at Nagicherra
In a tragic incident, two girls drowned to death in a lake at Kalidas Para of Nagicherra under Anandanagar police station of West Tripura district, while they were busy with swimming in the lake on Friday noon.
Police sources said that the victim girls have been identified as Pinki Das (9) and Urmila Marak (10).
According to the Officer-In-Charge (OC) of the Srinagar police station, Dilip Debbarma, the girls along with another one had gone to the lake to take a bath. While one of them came up safely, the other two were unfortunately submerged in the deep water of the lake.
As soon as the news spread locals gathered around the pond and rescued the victims from the pond and took them to the Anandanagar Primary Health Center where the attending doctor declared them dead.
