Under-trial prisoner shifted hospital in blooded condition, family claims murder inside central jail
In a sensational incident, the body of an under-trial prisoner has been shifted to hospital from Central jail in blooded and mysterious condition, which has raised questions over the safety and security of prisoners inside the jail complex. While, family of the victim prisoner claimed their relative had been murdered inside the jail and demanded proper investigation over the custodial death.
Sources said that one under-trial priosoner identified as Babul Das of Camper Bazar area of AD Nagar under West Tripura district was in the jail for last 48 days after his wife committed suicide in his house on July 14th last.
On Tuesday afternoon, jail authorities shifted him to Bishalgarh hospital with multiple injuries and blooded condition with deep injuries in his head and ears. But, the visiting doctors declared him dead and shifted the body to GB Hospital morgue to conduct autopsy under observation of forensic experts.
On duty doctor of Bishalgarh hospital, speaking with media persons said that deceased Babul Das has deep injuries in his head and ears and jail authorities claimed that he got injuries after he slipped from a stair.
While, relatives of Babul Das claimed that jail authorities informed them that Babul was admitted to Bishalgarh hospital, but, when they reached the hospital, the relatives found Babul Das already dead and lying in a stretcher with a pool of blood.
They alleged that Babul was killed inside the jail and demanded proper investigation over the custodial death of their relative.
