Voters have decided to reject CPI (M) in by-polls: Dr Saha
Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha criticized the CPI (M) for neglecting developmental work in the poll-bound Boxanagar assembly constituency and said that the people of this assembly constituency have decided to reject the CPI (M) in the by-elections slated to be held on September 5th.
Dr Saha said this while addressing 'Pristhapramukh Sanmelan’ at Kalamchoura in Boxanagar under the Sephaijala district on Saturday.
“I visited the Boxanagar assembly constituency and was shocked to witness the extent of neglect. Despite having had many MLAs and Ministers representing this assembly, their presence is now negligible. Their candidate is also absent. It's perplexing how they plan to address the electorate during their campaign. The people will not accept them. While interacting with voters during door-to-door visits in this constituency, I have found that they acknowledge past mistakes and have decided to support only the BJP and reject CPIM. The BJP upholds the principle of 'Sabka Ka Saath Sabka Vikas'.”, said Dr Saha. He also appealed to people who are still with the Congress and CPI(M) to join the BJP.
"We have a double-engine government, and many bogies in this engine are empty. Those who have worked for Congress and CPI(M) should come and join us. I am confident that on September 08 we will celebrate victory in this assembly as people will elect Tofajjal Hossain to the Assembly with a massive mandate," said the Chief Minister.
Emphasizing the role of Pristhapramukhs in this by-election, Dr Saha said, “In Tripura, we have 42,000 Pristhapramuks, with more than 1000 in Boxanagar. Pristhapramukhs have to visit each and every house to strengthen bonds and gain the support of the people. Pristhapramukhs have many responsibilities in this by-election. You have to go door-to-door to make people aware of what the BJP government is doing for development. BJP is dedicated to development. I believe Pristhapramukhs will play a key role in BJP’s victory at Boxanagar and in Dhanpur Assembly”.
He also criticized some Congress leaders, stating, "Some people have switched parties again and again just for personal benefits. But as they failed to achieve their goals in BJP, they have rejoined Congress. There is no room for opportunism if you are in the BJP. You have to work tirelessly, and then you will earn positions and rewards."
During the event, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Food and Civil Supply Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, BJP candidate for the Boxanagar assembly constituency Tofajjal Hossain and other leaders were present.
On this day, Chief Minister also held an organizational meeting in Boxanagar Mandal Office with all the In charge of Shakti Kendra in presence of Tripura BJP General Secretary (Organization) GR Ravindra Raju, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee was present.
