Wanted shooter from Punjab arrested in Agartala
A wanted shooter and notaries gang member from Mohali city of Punjab, who was hiding in the state capital for the past 3 to 4 months as a taxi driver was arrested by a joint operation by Punjab and Agartala police on Monday.
Police sources said that the accused was identified as Aditya Kapoor alias Makhan, had allegedly fled to Tripura after the crime and on December 15, 2026, main shooter Aditya Kapoor alias Makhan along two other miscreants had killed one Ravibala Choria at Mohali.
Punjab police DySP, Rajendra Kumar Singh, speaking with media persons in front of West Agartala police station on Monday said that they have managed to arrest two miscreants from Kolkata, while the main shooter Aditya Kapoor alias Makhan was hiding in Agartala for past 3 to 4 months and started working as a taxi driver.
He said that Punjab police along with Tripura police with active help of Intelligence agencies on Sunday night managed to arrest from Agartala and he will be produced before court with transit remand appeal.
Singh said that Aditya Kapoor will be brought to Punjab on Tuesday after getting the transit remand from Agartala court.
It may be recalled here that a five-member team of Punjab Police arrived in Agartala to take custody of the accused.
Aditya Kumar alias Makhan is currently being held at West Agartala police station.
