Woman thief arrested with stolen gold jewelleries
Police on Wednesday arrested a woman thief along with large quantities of stolen gold ornaments from the Kakraban area of Gomati district.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of RK Pur police station, Sanjib Lashkar said that a few days ago, one Kajal Sutradhar of Pitra area lodged a complaint at the police station that gold jewelleries weighing about 5 ‘Bari’ were stolen away from his home.
Based on the complaint, police started investigation and with help of scientific evidence, police managed to arrest accused thief, Futan Majumder from a house in Kakrabon area and based on her confessional statement, police has also recovered all stolen gold jewelleries.
OC said that maintaining all legal formalities, recovered gold jewelleries have been handed over to owner Kajal Sutradhar and the arrested thief would be produced before a local court on Thursday for further legal proceedings.
