Workshop on ‘Mission Zero Poll Violence’ in Agartala
A workshop was held on Mission Zero Poll Violence and Mission 929 programme on Monday, organized under the initiative of West Tripura District administration and Sadar Divisional Electoral Registration Officer office.
At the workshop, the District Magistrate of West Tripura district Debapriya Bardhan said that Mission Zero Poll Violence and Mission 929 programme have been launched to conduct the upcoming assembly election in a fair and peaceful manner. He said that in the last Assembly elections, the voter turnout was below 88 percent in 929 polling stations in the state. Out of this there are 204 polling stations in West Tripura district. Mission 929 programme has been taken to increase voter turnout by making voters aware of these polling stations.
At the workshop, Sadar Sub- Divisional Magistrate Arup Deb said that voting is a democratic right of citizens. Superintendent of Police Shankar Debnath, Additional District Magistrate Rajib Dutta, Additional District Magistrate Tarit kanti Chakma, Commandant of CISF Suraj Roy and Nodal Officer of Information and Technology Department Kabir Dey and others participated in the workshop. Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jirania sub-division Shanti Ranjan Chakma, RO of other assembly constituencies of the district, AROs, Sector Officers, Police department officials and representatives of different political parties were also present in the workshop.
