Yuva Apda Mitra Camp 2025 Commences in Agartala: 800 Cadets trained for disaster management

The Yuva Apda Mitra Camp 2025, organized by the 15 Tripura Battalion NCC under the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) scheme, commenced on November 3rd at the Sahid Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel in Agartala. The camp, scheduled from 3rd to 12th November, aims to train 800 cadets, including 50 percent women participants, in disaster preparedness, rescue, and relief operations.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of several eminent personalities. The Chief Guest, Col Kush Kumar Sharma (Retd), Chairman of the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), inaugurated the event. The Guest of Honour was Ms. J. Vanlal Duati, a senior officer of the Tripura Civil Service. Other distinguished guests included Pranab Sarkar, president of the Agartala Press Club; Brigadier Ranjit Borthakur, Former Chairman, Assam Public Service Commission; Deepak Sharma (IAS Retd), Former Chairman, Assam Public Service Commission; and Dr Sarat Kumar Das, State Project Officer, State Disaster Management Authority.
Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Anand Raj Singh Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters Silchar, highlighted that the initiative aims to empower NCC cadets with the skills and confidence to respond effectively during natural disasters, ensuring community safety and resilience across Tripura.
